Installation - Accelero XTREME 4780X2 cooler (2)
To remove the cooler, carefully grab the PCB at the up and downside of each GPU location and carefully move/twist the cooler a little. If you create a little friction with movement you'll notice that the thermal paste will let go after which you'll have the X2 all stripped nekked. Do not use too much force though (!).
Now cleanup the GPUs from residual thermal paste (carefully) and also make sure that all chips do not have any residual thermal pads. We now apply the included primary thermal pads on the voltage regulators and such, after which we will apply two heatsinks.
Press the two heatsinks down a little and the new thermal pads will have a 'loose' grip on them. We need to turn around the card now as we will secure these heatsinks with the backplate and three screws.
Each heatsink is secured with a screw. Here's where you mount the backplane again. Three screws can be reused to mount the heat sinks on the other side secure. Then there are two additional screws needed (supplied with the bundle) to secure the back plate a little better. Note, that was done after we mounted the cooler.
